Overview
Vulcrane boasts quad resistances to Fire and Crystal as well as strong physical bulk to allow Vulcrane to pivot into favorable situations and threaten strong Earth attacks. Vulcrane's huge Water-type weakness, dependence on the low-priority Stone Ball, and pitiful special defense make it easily threatened. Additionally Vulcrane lacks strong Fire-type attacks until Flaming Meteorite is available. This is more than made up for by Stone Trench, one of the most effective 1 hold techniques in the entire game.

Description
(1.3 DUKE'S NOTES - VULCRANE UNFORTUNATELY KNOCKED OVER SOMEONE ON THE BALANCE TEAM'S FAVOURITE COFFEE MUG, SO THE TEAM TOOK IT OUT BACK AND SHOT IT. STONE TRENCH PRETTY MID NOW, THIS TEM IS IN A TOUGH SPOT.)
Vulcrane is a dangerous combination of speed and power, with a crippling weakness to strong special attacks, particularly from earths, melees and waters. However, it can elude those attacks with Stone Trench, its signature move.
Hook and Slingshot combine to give Vulcrane even more of what it likes - attack power and speed. Stone Trench gives Vulcrane a crucial line of defense in the form of Evasion. Meteorite and Jutsu can get completely out of hand after Hook, and become even harder hitting if it overexerts Vulcrane, triggering Vigorous for a massive boost in damage.
Natures do well with Vulcrane, who dislikes fighting earths and waters. Water Custodian Nagaise is an interesting option to redirect water attacks and threaten melees, as well.
